feat remixes by art department, wolf + lamb & sideshow. simple celebrates its 50th single release in the new year (and each one of those 50 have been released on that wonderful black stuff known to old people as vinyl). a release that will see the founder, a&r, label manager and tea boy will saul and his long term production partner tam cooper team up for a limited edition gatefold vinyl double pack ep (yep, theyll loose loads of money but not many people get to 50 vinyl releases without loosing their house, car and mind so we think its worth celebrating. the release will feature 4 new tracks from will & tam with remixes from wolf + lamb & slow hands, sideshow and art department (jonny white & kenny glasgow).

a1: your last chance - very housey vibe on this one, with a heavy kick drum/snare combo. expanding synth line and very subtle percussive elements help the track build. it really kicks in when the vocals hit along with a funky ass bass groove. beautiful! a2: sailin 79 - slow paced track, centred on the vocal. great backing with bass, rising & shooting synth sounds. not so much for the dance floor, a great track for bar surroundings or a low key dj set! b1: youre welcome - smooth groove on this one, vocals are really well executed and give the track a great edge. killer track! b2: love is gone - super chilled track with a cosmic disco feel. waving synths, and echoed vocals create a very big sound. this track is encapsulating, pulling you into the groove for the entirety and sticking in your mind once its ended! brilliant stuff!

i dont think i know, or heard of, anyone who share the same obsession in searching obscure disco records like kool dj dust (real name daniel savio). call him at any given time and he is in some flee market or second hand shop on the look-out for records. he even got an apartment just for his collection.
we talked about the idea of re-releasing >un-googable< music, old stuff that is not only very hard to find, but also so good that re-issueing it is an actual cultural necessity. dust tossed around with a few ideas and finally these three songs made the cut. we are very happy with them!
we hope you are too. we are also happy that we have the support on this release from so many djs. some of them being rune lindbaek, in flagranti, tim sweeney, horse meat disco, 6th borough project, parlour, dj rocca, bonar bradberry, parlour, hugo capablanca, cousin cole et al.

it would be a complete mistake for any house imprint not to include a us talent in his catalog, this wont be the case for apersonal music. on its third effort the label takes his first journey to the grounds of american house. from arizona, michael j collins with remix rework from bostons house-sons soul clap, plus the first collaboration for apersonal from maurice aymard. a side single nothing wrong with holding on show us the most eclectic side of the label so far. looped vocals, broken house with a saxo on top. michaels talent goes beyond genres mixing elements from different styles to create this great piece of music. soul clap delivers, as usual, top stuff! in their remix they speed up the bpm and add a hip-breaker bassline taking the original track to the dancefloor war zone. second remix from maurice aymard, himself at the controls plus venezuelan producer garnica hitting the drums, they take the track to a trippy slowmo version, what maurices catalogs as his best remix so far.

marco resmann has done it. the studio computer is purring again like a satisfied kitten and those dark technical storm clouds have passed by. to prove that a streak of technical bad luck which he has just gone through can sometimes enhance creativity he has come up with this little gem of a new single >drop outz<. on a1 we have >mal pas< (transl: difficult road) which is an ode to the suffering he went through with his computer. but dont worry, its just a name, the track itself is as light and sweet as the stuff that we love from marco. b1 is also little beauty, no dark clouds to be found here either, and b2, a cracker called >whats cracking< is the ultimate proof to anyone that the sun always shines at upon you. enjoy and always think happy thoughts friends

this london trio drop syrupy euphoria hits for the very late night. their heavy, low-tech sound evokes, in their words, >a synthetic weave stuffed in a floppy drive< or >vaseline smeared on a trax record<. hounds of hate have catalogued diverse movements from their tweens by recreating exact sounds and recording techniques from that era. the conflict is in the naivete of their candid homage opposed by their own pessimism and tendency towards irony.
